It’s not uncommon for children ages 6 to 15 months to spend time in baby walkers. It gives them great mobility and hours of fun activities. Most medical professionals believe that the use of a walker baby hinders the mental and physical development of children and causes a real safety concern.
So if you are using or plan on using a baby walker keep a few things in mind. First, don’t leave your baby unattended and never leave him in it for more than 20 minutes at a time. Second, keep the baby and walker away from stairs, falling down is the leading cause of injury and even death. Third, keep hot items such as coffee, water, fire, etc. away from the reach of your child.
Although not using a baby walker is your best option, should you decide to use one take special care to make sure your child safety is taken care of.
