Yes, climate change is very much a global issue being felt in every part of the world. Some places are obviously hit worse than others but nowhere seems immune. Even on the island of Cyprus the changes are being felt and concerns are being raised. On the one hand Cyprus holiday accommodation has seen growing trade outside of the usual high season because temperatures are high and sunshine still strong as late in the year as November, but these longer summers and the colder winters that follow are a sure sign of global warming.
The house of representatives in Cyprus are taking things seriously and will be looking to meet then new guidelines set out by the EU. For Cyprus the water shortage created by the long summers has become a major concern which is one of the reasons that three major desalination plants are under construction.
