Then once you get a credit card you have to prove that you can spend wisely and pay your debt on time. Before you can do that you should understand how credit works.
When you apply for credit you are asking someone to give you money. This money is up front and you agree to pay them back plus a little extra. This is how companies make money. You borrow from them and you pay them back plus additional money. Companies make more money off of people that only pay their minimum due.
If you only pay your minimum due then you are paying extra money monthly.
