Most people know what submersible water irrigation pumps are. Did you know that these pumps do not have to be primed? These pumps are completely submerged in water thereby eliminating the need to prime them. Due to their design, a cylindrical shape, and use, in wells, lakes or streams, these pumps require special sleeves. The sleeve acts as protective gear for the motor by diverting water over the motor to keep it cool.
Instead of sucking the water in, these pumps push the water out. Known as turbines or jet pumps, the shaft and motor are above the water, not in it. Turbines are suction pumps and only come in multiple stages. The only difference between a turbine and jet pump is that jet pumps use water to push water back out.
